Joel Zuckerman, the
Vagabond Golfer, was recently called “one of the most respected and sought-after
golf writers in the Southeast” by Golfer’s Guide. Legendary golf course
architect Pete Dye says "Joel is a great writer, and has been a great friend to
my family".
He began writing a golf column for a Hilton Head-area newspaper in 1998,
and from that modest forum has since contributed features, essays, personality
profiles and travel stories to more than one hundred publications
internationally, including Sports Illustrated, GOLF Magazine, LINKS, SKY
Magazine, Golfweek, Continental, T&L Golf, Estates West, Millionaire, and Golf
International, among many others.
His books include:
Golf in the Lowcountry -- An Extraordinary Journey through Hilton Head Island &
Savannah: published in 2003.
Golf Charms of Charleston: published in 2005, and since reprinted.
Misfits on the Links: published in 2006, and since reprinted.
A Hacker's Humiliations: published in 2007, and since reprinted.
In September 2008, his most ambitious project will become a reality:
Pete Dye: Golf Courses—50 Years of
